Turnaround Time Details

  • 25% of mailings are sent within 11 hours, 41 minutes

  • 50% of mailings are sent within 19 hours, 49 minutes

  • 75% of mailings are sent within 1 day, 5 hours, 52 minutes

Times are calculated automatically, based on everything we've mailed in the past 30 days.

Exceptions

  • Weekends. The clock stops running at midnight on Friday night, and starts running again at midnight Monday morning. We occasionally work on Saturdays.

  • Holidays. We're closed on postal holidays. We are also generally closed for one week during the spring for a business retreat, and one week during the summer for vacation.

  • Time spent waiting for approval. When we prepare a preview for a mailing, we don't include the time between when the preview is put online and when it is approved.

For letters that are sent to us by E-Mail, the clock doesn't start until we enter it into the web site. We try to do this right away, but it sometimes gets delayed due to busyness.

Why isn't the last 25% shown?

There are some scenarios when the automatic calculation breaks down, and the numbers end up being a lot higher than they should be. One example is when someone approves a letter and adds a comment saying "please don't send this until such-and-such a date."

Situations like that cause a significant portion of that last 25% to be inaccurate, so we've decided to leave it out.
