Mailing List Instructions: TntMPD
The simplest solution for getting your mailing list to us is to send us your entire MPD file, and we'll take care of exporting the addresses that have the "Send Newsletter" box checked.
Alternatively, you can export a contact list from the file using the following instructions:
Ensure that you're viewing all your contacts, rather than a subset (the second box from the left at the bottom of the screen should read "Everyone").
Under the File, choose Export Current Group.
Ensure that the following fields are checked:
- ContactID
- File As
- Greeting
- Mailing Address Block
- Send Newsletter (one screen up from the bottom of the list)
Click OK.
Click Export.
Enter a file name (e.g. "2010-09 Addresses", and note where the file is being saved on your computer. If in doubt, click on the My Documents icon to have the file saved there.
Click Save.
Click Close.
Include that file when you send your letter to us. We'll use it to update any contact information that has changed, and you will still get the benefit of seeing which letters you've sent to which contacts over time.
You don't need to worry about other fields also being checked – we'll just ignore them.
If you click Save Default Fields after you've checked these items, you won't have to repeat this step every month.
If you're experienced with TntMPD, there are other ways of generating this list – feel free to use whichever method is most comfortable for you. The important fields to include are the ContactID, so that we can match contacts who have name or address changes, and Send Newsletter, unless you want us to send to everyone in your list. If you would prefer to send an Excel file containing these fields, that works just as well.
